Ungrateful and outrageous reply by Bangladesh Minister on PM Modi’s post on Bangladesh Victory Day

Dhaka (Bangladesh) – 16th December was the day of emergence of Bangladesh i.e. the day India won the war with Pakistan. Every year, this day is celebrated in India and Bangladesh. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on social media admiring the Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives in this war and called their sacrifice critical to this victory. Bangladesh’s Legal Adviser, Asif Nazrul in the present interim Government, has responded to this post refuting PM Modi’s statement and claiming that the victory of 1971 was the victory of Bangladesh and India was just an ally. He has also attached the screenshot of PM Modi’s post.

We should continue our fight against the dangers posed by India

Like Nazrul, Hasnat Abdullah, a student leader in Bangladesh, has also criticised India, saying that it was a war of freedom for Bangladesh from Pakistan but PM Modi’s claim of it being India’s war and victory, is like a challenge to the existence of Bangladesh. We should, therefore, continue our fight against such dangers posed by India.

It was the celebration of the first ‘Vijay Diwas’ after toppling Sheikh Hasina’s Government in Bangladesh. More than celebrations, however, there was more opposition to India observed on the streets of Dhaka. The war-memorial being built at Ashuganj in the memory of Indian soldiers remained deserted on ‘Vijay Diwas’. Slogans were raised openly against India and PM Modi on the streets of Dhaka.

Muhammad Yunus is a fascist : Sheikh Hasina

In a statement published by the deposed Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the eve of the ‘Vijay Diwas’ of Bangladesh, she said that the fascist Government of Muhammad Yunus is not discharging its duties towards the people of Bangladesh. This Government is supporting anti-liberation extremists – communal forces. It has taken over the power through internal and international conspiracy using anti-national forces and by carrying out illegal and unconstitutional activities. By grabbing power, the Government is making it difficult to do anything for the welfare of the people. They are feeling oppressed due to inflation. Hungry people are now collecting food even from garbage bins on the roads. The goal of Yunus Government is to create dislike amongst people for those who are fighting for liberation. This Government is trying to erase the history and soul of the war of liberation and spreading distorted stories to wipe out people’s sentiments about the war. If such a thing happened, it would be a blot on the great valour of Bengali people. Muhammad Yunus is leading a fascist Government.

Editorial Perspective

It has now become necessary to teach a lesson to such ungrateful Bangladesh. If India remains calm even now, it would be self-destructive Gandhigiri by India and will have harmful consequences in future.
