Rohingya builds his own house in Pune

Acquires Aadhaar Card and Indian Passport

Infiltrator Rohingya Muzammil Mohammad Amin Khan and his own house in Pune

Pune – Investigations have revealed that Muzammil Mohammad Amin Khan, an infiltrator from the Rohingya community, built a house in the Dehu Road area of Pune. Without presenting any documents, he managed to obtain an Aadhaar Card for just Rs 500. Using it, he later obtained Indian passports for himself and his wife, posing as an Indian citizen. On 27thJuly 2024, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police registered a case at the Dehu Road Police Station against Khan, another Rohingya infiltrator named Sheikh, and their wives. The Police confiscated mobile phones, SIM cards, Aadhaar Cards, PAN cards, Bangladeshi currency, and Indian passports from the suspects. They were later released on bail, and the case is pending in Court.

Serious revelations from the investigation

1. Khan completed a course to become a maulana at an Islamic institution in Myanmar. He lived there with his wife and two daughters but migrated to Bangladesh in December 2012. In 2013, he illegally crossed the international border in Bengal and entered India with his second wife and children.

2. Upon arriving in Pune via train, Khan found employment at a private company in Talegaon MIDC. He lived with his family in a room provided by the company. The Police suspect the involvement of an employee from this company, who is yet to be located, in bringing people from Myanmar and Bangladesh to Pune. (The Police must uproot such networks and ensure strict punishment – Editor).

3. Investigations revealed that Khan obtained an Aadhaar Card from a shop in Bhiwandi without submitting any documents, simply by paying Rs 500. The Police suspect that middlemen in Bhiwandi presented fake documents in Khan’s name at the Aadhaar centre, enabling him and his wife to obtain Aadhaar Cards. (Local anti-national elements and administrative corruption are key reasons why Bangladeshis and Rohingyas acquire Aadhaar Cards and passports – Editor). Khan also acquired land without documentation and built a house on it. For nearly 10 years, he lived there with his family, undetected by any Police agency, pretending to be an Indian citizen.

4. In July, Maharashtra ATS officers raided Khan’s residence with another suspect, Shahid alias Sohiddul Sheikh. Sheikh, also a Rohingya, was arrested in the Dehu Road area. Sheikh had been living illegally in India with his wife since 2015. During interrogation, Sheikh revealed to the Police that “Muzammil Mamu from Dehu Road is also a citizen of Myanmar.” The Police subsequently detained Muzammil Khan.

Editorial Perspectives

  • It is outrageous that infiltrators forge fake documents without the Police or administration noticing. Rohingya Muslims, expelled from Myanmar, are infiltrating India on a large scale. Experts have warned that Rohingyas are dangerous for India. Like other nations, India must introduce strict penalties against infiltration and ensure their enforcement.
  • Officials and staff within the administration aiding Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators in acquiring fake documents must also be arrested under the charges of treason.
