New Delhi – India has undergone a significant transformation in its approach to countering terrorism, stated External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar during an event. He highlighted the lack of action following the November 26, 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks, contrasting it with India’s decisive responses to the Uri and Balakot attacks, where the country retaliated against Pakistan.
“India is no longer the same,” Dr Jaishankar emphasized, underscoring the nation’s resolve to safeguard its sovereignty and respond firmly to threats.
Dr Jaishankar further emphasized that India has become a capable and confident nation. “The youth have immense faith in the country’s capabilities, and they are playing a pivotal role in enhancing India’s prestige in fields such as science, infrastructure, and high technology,” he said.

He also highlighted that India’s progress is no longer confined to the elite class or metropolitan cities, but is now reaching the grassroots, reflecting a more inclusive and widespread development across the nation.
Editorial PerspectiveIt is true that India has made significant strides in addressing terrorism, particularly through decisive actions like the surgical strikes post-Uri and the Balakot airstrikes. However, jihadi terrorism in Kashmir is still not uprooted and Pakistan keeps sending terrorists into Kashmir. Patriots and concerned citizens believe made, comprehensive and sustained efforts are needed to completely eradicate terrorism in the region. |
