Rasulabad Ghat in Prayagraj renamed as ‘Shaheed Chandra Shekhar Azad Ghat’

Prayagraj (UP) – The preparations for the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj are in full swing. The Yogi Government is striving to make this Maha Kumbh Mela historic. In this context, the name of Rasulabad Ghat, located on the banks of the river Ganges in Sangamner, has been changed. It will now be known as ‘Shaheed Chandra Shekhar Azad Ghat’. Rasulabad Ghat is one of the oldest ghats in Prayagraj. The final rites of the Amar Hutatma Chandra Shekhar Azad were performed here. Yogi Government has now issued an order to rename the ghat in honour of the revolutionary, just before the Maha Kumbh Mela.

1. The municipal corporation recently passed a resolution to change the name of Rasulabad Ghat. A notification was issued by the corporation regarding this.

2. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had inspected the preparations for the Maha Kumbh Mela during his recent visit to Prayagraj. During this time, he also inspected Dashashwamedh Ghat and the Ganga River Front Road. At that time he gave instructions to rename Rasulabad Ghat.

3. Previously, major cities like Allahabad and Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh were renamed. Allahabad is now known as Prayagraj, and Faizabad is now known as Ayodhya.

4. Similarly, the names of Mughalsarai and Jhansi railway stations have been changed to Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Nagar and Virangana Lakshmibai Railway Station, respectively.

5. Additionally, 8 railway stations in the Lucknow division have been renamed. These include Jais, Akbarganj, Fursatganj, Waris Ganj Halt, Nihalganj, Bani, Mishrauli, and Kasimpur Halt. These stations have been renamed after religious places, great personalities, and spiritual leaders.
