Tax-Free in 7 BJP-ruled States, including Uttar Pradesh and Goa
Lucknow (UP) / Panaji (Goa) – In 2002, a compartment of the ‘Sabarmati Express’ carrying Karsevaks was set on fire by a Muslim mob at Godhra railway station in Gujarat, leading to the tragic death of 58 Karsevaks. Based on this Godhra massacre, the film ‘The Sabarmati Report’ was released nationwide on 15th November. After watching the film, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed that every Indian must watch it to uncover the truth about the Godhra incident.
1. Starring Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey in the lead role, the film has been declared tax-free in seven BJP-ruled states. Chief Ministers Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh and Pramod Sawant of Goa recently announced this decision, making the film tax-free in Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Gujarat.
2. A spokesperson for the Uttar Pradesh Government stated that CM Yogi Adityanath, along with cabinet ministers, attended a special screening of the film in Lucknow.
3. During the event, CM Yogi Adityanath congratulated the entire team of ‘The Sabarmati Report,’applaudingtheir effort to bring the truth to light through the film. Actors Vikrant Massey and Rashi Khanna also met the Chief Minister during the occasion.
4. Produced by Ekta Kapoor, the film has garnered praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
