Suresh Chavhanke submits appeal to Maharashtra’s Director General of Police

Mumbai – Currently, it is estimated that between 80 lakhs to 1 crore illegal immigrants are residing in Maharashtra. These intruders not only affect local life but are also severely disrupting the democratic process of the State. If immediate and strict action is not taken against them, the election process in Maharashtra will be severely impacted. An appeal demanding strict action against these intruders has been submitted to the Director General of Police by Suresh Chavhanke, the head of ‘Civil Society of Maharashtra’ and the editor of the Hindi news channel ‘Sudarshan News’.

Chavhanke added,

1. The involvement of these intruders is increasing the incidents of fraudulent voting and weakening the democratic process.

2. This large number of intruders poses a serious threat to both internal and external security of the State and country.

3. The influx of intruders is disturbing the local demography and creating cultural and social problems.

Measures to ensure a secure voting process :

1. On 19th November, the Maharashtra Police and the Election Commission should issue a warning to the intruders to stay away from the voting process. If any are found at the polling stations, they should be immediately arrested.

2. On the evening of 19th November, the Police should conduct raids in areas where intruders are likely to be present and carry out combing operations.

3. Illegal residents should be immediately arrested, and legal action should be taken against them.

4. Additional police force should be deployed in sensitive assembly constituencies on 20th November.

5. The details of all these actions should be widely publicised through the media and social media platforms.

6. Such actions will create fear among the intruders and prevent them from attempting to hijack the election process.

7. We have appealed to the citizens of Maharashtra to be vigilant to protect democracy and immediately report any suspicious activities to the Police.
