Siddharthnagar (UP) – On 4th November, an immersion procession of the idols of Deity Shri Ganesh and Shri Lakshmi was held by the Hindu community in Siddharthnagar. As the procession moved through the Muslim-majority village of Mali Mainha, devotional songs were played over a DJ, reportedly triggering opposition, and stone-pelting, which left two female devotees injured and heightened tensions in the area.

Upon receiving information, Senior Police officers arrived with a large force and calmed the devotees. Following this, the procession continued on its designated route for immersion; however, the devotees remained firm on identifying and taking action against those involved in the stone-pelting. One person has reportedly been detained in connection with the incident. Meanwhile, Police have dismissed reports of stone-pelting and injuries as rumours and are investigating the source of the alleged misinformation.
