The temple was vandalised due to Hindu hatred instigated by videos of Zakir Naik

Salman Salim, the individual accused of vandalising a temple in Telangana, has confessed to the crime

Secunderabad (Telangana) – Salman Salim, a resident of Mumbra (District Thane) and a computer engineer by profession, has been arrested in connection with the vandalism of Muthyalamma Temple. During police interrogation, he revealed that Zakir Naik’s videos had instilled hatred against Hindus in his mind, which motivated him to vandalise the temple.

He has also admitted to vandalising a temple in Mumbai

He has also confessed to committing similar acts in the past, including vandalizing temples in Vasai- Virar in August 2024 and in Mumbai in September 2024.

In 2022, a crime was registered against him for entering the Shri Ganeshotsav mandap while wearing
boots and behaving offensively in front of the idol. (He was also arrested for vandalising the temple of Deity Shankar in Vasai-Virar. Despite being apprehended after previous incidents, he continued to repeat such actions in another city. If someone were to demand that such hate-filled individuals receive the death penalty, it would not be unjustified. – Editor)

Editorial Perspectives

  • The mentality of those vandalising Hindu temples is evident. Other Muslims often remain silent about such actions, suggesting a shared mindset. While some may act openly, others provide tacit consent.
  • If anti-Hindu activities are perceived to be increasing due to Zakir Naik’s influence, when will the Indian Government bring him back to India and take legal action against him.
