New Delhi – Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced that Maharashtra Assembly Elections will be conducted on 20th November 2024. Jharkhand Assembly Elections will be conducted in two phases – 13th and 20th November. There will also be a by-election held in Wayanad on 13th November. Counting of votes will be done on 23rd November.
The code of conduct was implemented in both the States after this announcement. It is mandatory to hold elections in these States before 26th November 2024.
In Maharashtra, filing of nomination papers will start from 22nd October and 29th October will be the last date for filing nomination papers. The deadline for cancellation of nominations would be 4th November. The by-election for the Lok Sabha seat in Nanded will also be held on 20th November.
