Kalaburagi (Karnataka) – “Union government itself has given support to Palestine. That being the case, what is wrong in holding Palestine flags ? We held the flag of that nation because the Union government supported it, else we would not have done it. It is wrong to give slogans of other nations. Those who do that are traitors. Such people should be hanged; but there is nothing wrong in holding a Palestinian flag”, said Zameer Ahmed Khan, Minister in the Government of Karnataka in support of the incident of Muslims waving Palestine flags.

Zameer Ahmed Khan accused the BJP of inciting sentiments with regard to the conflict during the Ganesh festival procession at Nagamangala in Mandya. He said, “Action should be taken against anyone who tries to incite violence. Politicians should not do such things. Everyone ought to be seen in an equal light, leaving caste and religion aside.

Editorial Perspective

There is a difference between the Union Government supporting a nation and Muslims waving the flag of that nation. Action must be taken against anyone who waves a flag of another nation merely on religious grounds.
