Police inspector sexually harasses and assaults a soldier’s fiancée

Bhubaneswar (Odisha) – An incident of sexual harassment of a soldier’s fiancée by the Police has been revealed in Odisha. The incident took place in a Police station in Bhubaneswar on 14thSeptember. 5 Police personnel have been suspended in this case, including a Police inspector and 2 women Police.

After the incident, the victim revealed the misdeeds of the Police before the media. She said,

1. At 1 a.m., I closed my restaurant. Me and my fiancé were traveling back home. Some miscreants stopped our vehicle and started arguing with us.

2. My fiancé and I somehow survived and went to the Police station to report the matter. At that time, a lady constable was sitting in the Police station wearing a gown.

3. When I asked her for help, she spoke rudely. I told her that I was a lawyer, and it was her duty to register a complaint. The lady constable got angry with me. She put my fiancé in jail. I told them that he was an army officer. At that time, two women Police personnel came and started beating me up. They Pulled my hair and dragged me.

4. Those two Policewomen took off my jacket and tied my hands. They removed my dupatta and tied my legs with it. I was locked in a room.

5. After some time, the Police inspector came, he removed my under garments and started beating me up on my private parts. I was sexually abused.

6. At 6 in the morning, the Police officer came again. A woman was also with him. He pulled my under garments and started talking to me in dirty language while showing his private parts. The victim could not control her tears while narrating this. In this case, the victim has filed a complaint against the Police personnel.

It is better not to think how the Police, who behave in this manner with the fiancée of a soldier, behave with common public. Such Police personnel should be put in jail for life.
