Jaipur – A Hindu procession was attacked by Muslims at Jahazpur in Bhilwara district. Hindus had organised a procession on the occasion of Ekadashi on 14th September. Stones were pelted at the procession from the Jama Masjid when the procession passed by it. This stone pelting continued for 20 to 25 minutes injuring many Hindus. Police have arrested 10 persons in this regard and are carrying out a thorough enquiry. The incident has led to an additional police deployment in the city.
Terrified by the stone pelting Hindus ran helter-skelter resulting in a stampede. Markets were shut in the aftermath of the incident.
Hindus came together in a short while and carried out protests. On being informed about the incident, BJP MLA Gopichand Meena joined the protest. He promised Hindus that the mosque would be bulldozed.
Gopichand Meena requested to stop the protest after 10 arrests were made in the case.

Municipality issues notice to the mosque
Jahazpur Municipality has issued a notice to the owner of the mosque. He has been ordered to submit the land ownership and mosque erection documents at the municipality office within 24 hours.
Illegal construction by Muslims razed in the city
After the stone pelting incident, municipal officials razed down an illegal structure built by Muslims, next to the bus stand. The District Collector, Rajendra Singh Shekhawat, validated that the action had indeed been taken.
