BJP holds protest outside Rahul Gandhi’s residence

Objection to Gandhi’s statement, “Sikhs are terrified in India”

New Delhi – BJP Sikh cell activists staged a protest outside senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s residence in the city. The objection was that Rahul Gandhi had insulted India and the Sikhs in the US. They said, “our country has been discredited in foreign country and he must apologise.” The Police took BJP leader R. P. Singh and other Sikhs into custody.

Rahul Gandhi’s words

During his visit to the US, Rahul Gandhi said that the Sikhs in India fear whether they would we be allowed to wear Pagadi (turban) or the kada (steel bangle). Also, whether they would be allowed to go to the Gurudwara. It is a matter of concern, not only for the Sikhs but for all other religions. The BJP Sikh leaders also said that they will take Rahul Gandhi to the Court for his anti-Sikh statement.

In fact, the Sikhs were insecure when Gandhi family was in power – BJP

BJP leader Hardeep Singh Puri said, “In 1984 Sikhs were massacred in a well-planned conspiracy. Many senior Congress leaders were involved in that. More than 3,000 Sikhs had got killed in that attack. Instead of admitting their mistake, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is questioning others. Sikhs were scared during the regime of Rahul Gandhi’s family. I have been wearing turban for 6 decades.

Editorial Perspective

It is an irony that the same Congress had massacred Sikhs in 1984. Blaming BJP is like kettle calling the pot black.
