Principal asks to come to college with two plaits
(Hijab is a cloth used by Muslim women to cover their head and neck)

Bijnor (Uttar Pradesh) – The Principal of Janata Inter College here sent back the students wearing a hijab. The students alleged that the Principal was not allowing them to come to college in a hijab. A video of this incident was posted on the social media. The District Education Inspector while speaking in this context, said, “We are aware of the incident and are having a through enquiry of the matter.”
In the video, the students are seen wearing a hijab over the uniform. They are saying that the Principal sent them back as they were wearing a hijab. They were asked to come to college not in a hijab but with their hair tied in two plaits.
