Religious fanatic arrested for extorting money from Police filing a complaint with Human Rights Commission

Bengaluru (Karnataka) – Syed Sarfraz Ahmed, who was extorting money from the Police by making false complaints to the Human Rights Commission about illegal detention of accused in police stations, was arrested by the Shivajinagar police.

In the month of July, a person named Mohammad Irshad was arrested by the Police in a case registered under the Arms Act at the Shivajinagar police station. Syed had complained to the Human Rights Commission saying that Mohammad Irshad had been kept in police custody illegally. Following this complaint, the officials of the commission raided the police station and conducted an investigation. After that, the accused demanded Rs 50,000 from the Police to withdraw the case.
