Committee established to collect information about Bangladeshi Muslim intruders

Jharkhand Govt comes into action after being reprimanded by the Jharkhand High Court !

Ranchi (Jharkhand) – The Deputy Commissioner of Sahibganj District has constituted a committee to investigate the Bangladeshi intrusion in Santhal Pargana area following the order of the Jharkhand High Court. This includes high-ranking officials. The Court ordered the formation of this committee in other Districts of Santhal Pargana as well. The boundaries of Santhal Pargana Districts are adjacent to West Bengal. Intruders first come from Bangladesh to West Bengal and from there they enter Jharkhand.

1. The High Court had ordered the State Government to trace the intruders in the State, identify them and submit a report on the action taken against them within 2 weeks. The High Court had also sought a report from the Union Government. Besides this, the High Court had ordered that all the District Officers of Santhal Pargana should coordinate and investigate the Bangladeshi intrusion.

2. The Court passed this order on the petition of Daniel Danish. The petition stated that youths belonging to banned organisations in Bangladesh are systematically marrying tribal girls from Jharkhand and converting them in Santhal Pargana Districts adjoining the State of West Bengal. New madarasas are also popping up. Santhal Pargana area consists of the Districts of Godda, Deoghar, Dumka, Jamtara, Sahibganj and Pakur.

3. The problem of Bangladeshi intruders is not only limited to marrying tribal girls and encroaching on land, it also has connection with the Lok Sabha elections. A recent BJP report showed that there was an unexpected rise of 20% to 123% in the number of Bangladeshi voters in Muslim-majority areas. This increase has occurred in a total of 1,467 polling stations of 10 Vidhan Sabhas. Generally, there is an increase of 15% to 17% in 5 years. Hence the current growth is astonishing. Voter turnout of Hindu population in polling stations has increased by only 8% to 10%. Hindu voters have decreased in many centres.

4. Earlier in March 2024, Aaj Tak news channel said that Bangladeshi Muslim intruders enter India through Bengal. Following this, they become stable and some of them target tribal girls. When girls are attracted to them, they marry the girls. After marriage, the girl’s identity remains as tribal only on paper. Then the land is taken in the girl’s name or her own land is usurped. Intruders from Bangladesh get funds to do all this. The motive behind retaining the identity of a girl as tribal is to get Government benefits. Apart from this, young women who married Muslims contested elections in many places. Bangladeshi intruders work in the mines there. Soon after Bangladeshi intruders enter Jharkhand, they get fake identity cards. Bangladeshi intruders who have already settled there help them in this.

Editorial Perspective

A squad needs to be set up to collect information about rising number of Muslim intruders all over the country, and not just in Jharkhand. Also, after collecting this information, immediate efforts should be made to drive these intruders out of the country !
