Kupwara (Jammu and Kashmir) – A soldier got killed in an encounter between Indian soldiers and terrorists here on the morning of 24th July. A terrorist was also killed. The encounter occurred when a search operation was underway after receiving information that terrorists were hiding there.

Hours before the incident, Lance Naik Subhash Kumar was killed in an encounter with terrorists in the Batal sector near the border in Poonch.
