Bareilly (UP) – Asif Qureshi from the city introduced himself as “Ashish” and deceived a Dalit girl, later raping her. To convince her he was Hindu, Asif used to tie a sacred thread on his wrist and apply Tilak on his forehead. He also claimed to be a law student. He befriended a Dalit girl studying in the first year of Arts at the Government college in Faridpur. He deceived the girl and lured her into love trap.
1. Asif Qureshi took the victim to a hotel on the highway near the village of Nawadiya Ashok, where he raped her.
2. At that time, the girl came to know that he was not Ashish but Asif Qureshi, and that he was a butcher by profession.
3. The terrified girl returned home and told everything to her family. The family lodged a complaint against Asif Qureshi.
4. Following this, the Police arrested him. A fake Aadhaar card in the name of “Ashish” was found in his possession.
