Black ink thrown on Asaduddin Owaisi’s house in Delhi

New Delhi – Black ink was splashed at the house of Asaduddin Owaisi, the President of AIMIM and a MP, in Delhi. On 25thJune, while taking the parliamentary oath, Owaisi had chanted slogans such as “Jai Bhim, Jai Meem, Jai Telangana, Jai Palestine, Allahu Akbar (Allah is Great).” It is said that this ink attack was in response to those slogans. Reacting to the ink attack, Owaisi said, ”To the two-bit goons who keep targeting my house: this does not scare me. Stop this Savarkar-type cowardly behaviour and be men enough to face me. Do not scurry away after throwing some ink or pelting a few stones.”
Owaisi further stated,” I have now lost count of the number of times my Delhi residence has been targeted. When I asked Delhi Police officials how this was happening right under their nose, they expressed helplessness.”
In February 2023, stones were thrown at Owaisi’s house while he was in Jaipur. On 3rd February, 2022, during the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, shots were fired at Owaisi’s car near a toll booth in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh.

After taking an oath in the country’s Parliament, does someone who chants anti-national slogans like ‘Jai Palestine’ even have the right to mention Savarkar’s name ? The President should immediately revoke such a person’s parliamentary membership and order criminal action against him. |
