Saint Kumar Chandrashekharanath Swami urges Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah to resign and appoint Deputy CM DK Shivakumar as his successor

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru (Karnataka) – Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should resign and appoint Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar as the new Chief Minister, urged Saint Kumar Chandrashekharanath Swami of the Vishva Vokkaliga Mahasamsthan Math. He made this statement during a program in Bengaluru on the occasion of Kempegowda Jayanti, where both CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar were present.

Currently, there is a demand in the state to appoint one Deputy Chief Minister each from the Veerashaiva-Lingayat community, the Scheduled Castes and Tribes, and the minority communities. D.K. Shivakumar is the only Deputy Chief Minister and hails from the dominant Vokkaliga community in South Karnataka.

Saint Kumar Chandrashekharanath Swami further stated, ” Everyone has enjoyed power and become Chief Minister, but our D.K. Shivakumar has not yet had the opportunity. Therefore, I request Siddaramaiah, who has experienced this position, to now hand over power to Shivakumar and bless him. This can only happen if Siddaramaiah is willing, otherwise, it is not possible. Hence, with best wishes, I humbly request Siddaramaiah to make D.K. Shivakumar the Chief Minister.”

CM Siddaramaiah’s Response:

When asked about the saint’s appeal, Siddaramaiah said, ” This is a democracy. I will do what the party leaders decide. “D.K. Shivakumar added that some things have been discussed and both he and Siddaramaiah will be traveling to New Delhi to discuss the state’s pending projects with the state’s MPs.
