Kolhapur – Dr Zakir Naik, wanted by the Government of India for encouraging terrorism and a role model for terrorists, has made derogatory remarks about Hindu Dharma. In response to a question from a Muslim youth named Muhammad Zeeshan, Naik declared that participating in activities related to Hindu temple is ‘Shirk’, a grave sin in Islam. He stated that it is better to work in a weapons factory than to work in a temple or church, as it is ‘haram’ (forbidden) according to Islam. This video was aired on the YouTube channel ‘Huda TV’.
In response, the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) submitted a statement to the District Administration, addressed to the Union Home Minister, demanding strict action against Naik. The statement was accepted by resident Deputy Collector Sanjay Teli. On this occasion, several notable people were present, including Shiv Sena’s Deputy President (Kolhapur District) Kishor Ghatge, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s Sunil Samant, Niranjan Shinde of Maharaj Pratishthan, Shiv Sena UBT’s Karveer taluka chief Raju Yadav, Shivanand Swami and Gautamesh Toraskar of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Sandeep Sasane, District President of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha, Anandrao Paval, Regional Vice President of Corruption Eradication Awareness Committee, as well as devout Hindus Abhijit Patil, Satish Korvi, Sachin Pawar, Rahul Janvekar, Sagar Rangoli, Rambhau Methe. As Zakir Naik is an ‘Islamic preacher’, fanatic Muslims around the world take inspiration from his speeches.
Demands made on this occasion :
1. Zakir Naik is inciting Muslims against Hindus and Christians, deliberately creating religious discord, hatred, jealousy, and enmity. The Union Government should pressure the Malaysian Government to extradite Zakir Naik to India or take strict action against him in Malaysia.
2. Demand to declare Zakir Naik as an international terrorist in the United Nations.
3. All accounts of ‘Zakir Naik’ and the ‘Islamic Research Foundation’ on social media platforms like Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, etc., should be closed immediately.
