Fugitive terrorist arrested for his conspiracy to blow up foreign embassies

Bengaluru – National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials recently re-arrested terrorist Nooruddin alias Rafi, who masterminded the blasts at the US embassy in Chennai and the Israeli embassy in Bengaluru in Mysuru.

Nooruddin was released on conditional bail, but then he went missing. The Chennai court had declared Nooruddin a serial offender. NIA officials got the information that the accused was hiding in Raju Nagar in Mysuru. Officers raided and arrested the accused.

Accused Nooruddin, with the help of Pakistan’s Amir Siddiqui and Sri Lanka’s Mohammed, hatched a conspiracy to blow up the US embassy in Chennai and the Israeli embassy in Bengaluru in 2014. Nooruddin was arrested in this case and a case was registered against him in court. He was granted conditional bail in the year 2023. Later it was extended. In this background, a reward of Rs 5 lakh was announced for those who would give his whereabouts.
