New Delhi – The Indian Army will no longer import arms and ammunition. The Indian Army aims to stop the import of ammunition completely from the next financial year. Henceforth domestic industries will supply arms as per the requirements of the armed forces because domestic industries have increased their capacity to meet all their demands.
Indian Army Major General V.K. Sharma said that the army was currently buying ammunition worth Rs 6-8 thousand crore annually. Now Indian sources will supply it. Major General Sharma believes that soon Indian establishments will start playing a prominent role in the international market as well.
