This year, Akshayya Trutiya is on 10.5.2024. Akshayya Trutiya is one of the three and a half auspicious muhurts (Auspicious times) in Hindu Dharma. Every ghatika (An ancient Indian measure of time, 1 ghatika = 24 minutes) of this day is auspicious. Donations and havans (Ritual of sacrificial fires) performed on this day do not perish, meaning, they definitely bear fruit. Hence, many people do a lot of charity work on this day.
1. Importance of Satpatre dan : Hindu Dharma says that Satpatre dan, meaning, donating to the deserving, is the supreme duty of every human being. Satpatre dan effectively means giving for the cause of Sat (Absolute Truth). Any donation adds to the merits of the donor; whereas, Satpatre dan also imparts spiritual benefits. On Akshayya Trutiya, Satpatre dan can be performed in the manner mentioned ahead.
2. Donate to organisations or institutions working for the protection of the Nation & Dharma : Presently, the world is witnessing the phase of lassitude in Dharma. Lack of education on Dharma has not only made the Hindu society immoral, but has also destroyed their pride in Dharma.
Since Dharma is in such a dire state, as per the significance of times, it has become absolutely necessary to reinstate Dharma. Therefore, donating to Saints who have taken up the mission of spreading Dharma, as well as to organisations or institutions that work to protect the Nation and Dharma, is the supreme donation.
Sanatan Sanstha has taken up this mission of creating awakening on Dharma among the people. The donations to such organisations or institutions will be used only for reinstating Dharma.
