Muslims raise slogans of ‘Allah-hu-Akbar’

Meerut (Uttar Pradesh) – Namaz offering was held at 8.15 a.m. at Shahi Eidgah which was attended by thousands of Muslims. The crowd, however, grew and people tried to sit on the road for namaz which was opposed by the Police.
The Police and administration of Meerut had issued instructions, on the occasion of Eid, that namaz offering should not be held anywhere in a public place in the city on Eid. Even then, Muslims tried to sit for namaz on the road and started arguing with the Police and raising slogans of ‘Allah-hu-Akbar’. They, however, did not succeed since the Police took a firm stand. Later, Muslims went to other Eidgahs and mosques for namaz.
