1. Ajit Doval further said that India is committed to increase trade and connectivity with other countries. Such activities should be undertaken keeping in mind the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the member countries of the Council. Any act of terrorism by anyone, anywhere, for any purpose, including cross-border terrorism, cannot be justified at all. Those involved in cross-border terrorism should be dealt with effectively and expeditiously. India supports the establishment of an effective mechanism for cooperation under the Council’s ‘Framework to Counter Terrorism’ to curb terrorist financing and supports its further strengthening.
2. Regarding Afghanistan, Doval said that as a close neighbour of Afghanistan, India has legitimate security and economic interests in Afghanistan. India’s immediate priorities are to provide humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan, ensure the formation of an inclusive and representative Government, fight terrorism and drug trafficking, and protect the rights of women, children and minorities.
