Indian Navy rescues Pakistani fishermen from Somali pirates

Fishermen thank the Indian Navy, raise ‘Hindustan Zindabad’ slogans

New Delhi – The Indian Navy rescued Pakistani fishermen from the Somali pirates. Following this, the fishermen expressed their gratitude to the Indian Navy by raising slogans of ‘Hindustan Zindabad’. A video of this incident has been widely circulated on social media. 9 fishermen had been held captive by 23 Somali pirates. The Navy conducted a campaign on 29th March to rescue them. Information about the abduction of an Iranian vessel, Al-Kambar, near the Aden coast in the Indian Ocean, was received by the Navy, prompting this operation.

After the successful rescue operation, a video was released in which a rescued fisherman says, “I am Amir Khan. I am the leader of this ship. When we were coming from Iran, we were kidnapped by Somali pirates. On 29th March at 3 p.m., the Indian Navy started helping us. They worked throughout the night. Thanks Indian Navy ! Hindustan Zindabad !”
