PoK citizens have no fundamental rights

Greek leader reproaches Pakistan over PoK

Greek leader Constantinos Bogdanos

Athens (Greece) – People in Pak-occupied Kashmir (PoK) are deprived of fundamental rights, stated Greek leader Constantinos Bogdanos reproaching Pakistan while referring to a report of the United Nations’ Geneva office on Cyprus under the control of Turkey. Pakistan had not accepted the report, alleging it to be a propaganda.

Greece and India are united against aggression

Constantinos Bogdanos stated that people from PoK and the Gilgit-Baltistan region are the proof of Pakstan’s oppression. As a European and a Greek, I am deeply affected by every kind of oppression in these regions. In today’s world, no country can deny fundamental rights to its people. When I talk about occupied regions, I think about North Cyprus. Greece and India are united on the issue of aggression. I appeal for a review of Pakistan’s policies concerning PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan, as they should be based on international laws, democracy and equality.

Greece is not happy with Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s statement made last week about Cyprus. Erdogan had said that Cyprus should have been a part of Turkey’s empire. In 1974, Turkey had attacked Cyprus. Erdogan said that had Turkey’s army continued to march ahead, Cyprus wouldn’t have been a problem today.
