Sanatan Dharma and its associated way of life is the greatest culture and civilisation in the world. Sanatan means eternal, something that has no beginning and yet is always new as it never ages. This implies that Sanatan Dharma and its civilisation or the way of life never become obsolete.
The basic tenets of Sanatan Dharma are in complete harmony with the laws of Nature. Many foreign invaders unsuccessfully tried to eliminate Sanatan Dharma. Many ancient civilisations and traditions have vanished as we enter the 21st century; however, Sanatan Dharma and its way of life are still prevalent in Bharat and many other countries due to its unique features and considerations. As times changed, Sanatan Dharma embraced the associated changes with an open mind; hence, the roots of this ancient way of life are still intact. Winston Churchill, the then Prime Minister of England, had once said – “Culture and literature are all very well, but a culture without strength ceases to be a living culture”. The followers of Sanatan Dharma must preserve the true essence of Sanatan Dharma and the associated way of life. Sanatan Sanstha, which strives to protect Sanatan Dharma, tops the list of organisations that work to strengthen the Nation and Dharma by relentlessly following the path of Dharma under the guidance of its Founder and Source of Inspiration, Sachchidananda Parabrahman (Dr) Jayant Athavale. |
1. Sanatan Sanstha – An Organisation that selflessly serves Sanatan Dharma and the associated way of life
In the Vedic times, the great Sages moulded people into a disciplined society with an impeccable balance between material and spiritual lives. One of the basic tenets of Sanatan Dharma implies that there is no limitation of space and time to create a balanced society.
Sanatan Sanstha draws inspiration from this thought that by following this Principle, one can serve Sanatan Dharma and the associated way of life.
Many Saints and Divine souls have from time to time guided the people to make their social lives fulfilling and meaningful in the true sense. They did phenomenal work of advising Hindus at a time when Bharat struggled for its Independence. Now, Sanatan Sanstha has taken leadership for turning the Hindus under the undue influence of Western culture to their roots, that is, towards Sanatan Dharma and its way of life by scientifically introducing Spirituality.
2. Sanatan Sanstha – An Organisation that advocates a beautiful balance between material & spiritual life
Human life can be broadly divided into two spheres – material and spiritual. Sanatan Dharma advocates an impeccable balance between these for us to lead happy lives. Sanatan Sanstha has been relentlessly doing this for the past 25 years by instilling confidence in Hindus, that they can progress in life by balancing the material and spiritual spheres of life.
We can easily deduce that Sanatan Sanstha was founded to protect and preserve Sanatan Dharma by looking at the nature of its various activities it is engaged in.
Sabdakalpadruma, a renowned Sanskrit lexicon, defines the origin of the word Hindu as – ‘Hindu is one who overcomes the inferior Raja-Tama components of personality defects and ego in himself’.
3. Sanatan Sanstha – An Organisation that strives to impart education on Dharma and Spirituality
In this modern era, many temptations lure us away from our goals – both material and spiritual. Our development can only take place when we lead clean and honest lives along with the purity of heart. If not, we may have to endure hardships and misery.
People tend to get swayed by the changing times, and they often become addicts as a result of blindly following the modern, Western lifestyle. They may often opt for an inappropriate, illegal and immoral means of earning their livelihood. Hence, instead of being happy, they become sad and depressed and even destroy their families. To avoid such a situation, Sanatan Sanstha has been relentlessly striving to impart education on culture, Dharma and Spirituality to Hindus for the past 25 years.
4. Sanatan Sanstha – An Organisation that makes Hindu society aware of its glorious past
Bhashacharya Acharya (Dr) Suniti Kumar Chatterjee, a renowned linguist, educationist, and litterateur had said – “Not only Hindu Dharma, but the Hindu way of life has also grown and developed over time. However, that has not altered its roots, core principles and Chaitanya (Divine consciousness). The same Chaitanya permeates the culture during Vedic and Upanishadic times, the Mahabharata period, when the Smritis and Puranas were compiled, the period of great commentators, the medieval period that was blessed with many Saints, and the 21st century of modern reformers”.
Sanatan Sanstha has been sharing the same information through its various activities.
One should be proud of his traditions and be patriotic, and cherish a feeling of unity while leading his personal and social life so as to preserve his identity. Sanatan Sanstha has been guiding and educating Hindus on their glorious past, including valuable information about great kings and warriors, freedom fighters and Saints so that they do not forget their magnificent history and go astray.
5. Sanatan Sanstha – An Organisation that educates the people to lead stress-free lives
Human life is shaped by four spheres : Spirituality, morality, honest behaviour, and devotion towards a Divine entity. These spheres are also critical to leading a stress-free and happy life. Sanatan Sanstha has given this serious thought; hence, it has developed a modern set of scientific rules considering the needs of the 21st century. Sanatan Sanstha prescribes a few simple set of rules which help the spiritually curious individuals lead disciplined and happy lives.
6. Sanatan Sanstha – An Organisation that draws our attention to ‘Art’ – a significant aspect of the Hindu-Sanatan way of life
One can also lead a happy and prosperous life if one strives to scientifically develop skills in music, dance, painting, etc. Sanatan Sanstha has drawn people’s attention towards the fact that Arts are an integral part of the Hindu way of life. I think this is the highlight of Sanatan’s whole range of activities.
7. Sanatan Sanstha – An Organisation that takes a firm stance on traditional clothing
Sanatan Sanstha has always taken a firm stance concerning traditional clothing. It says that a well-educated and well-mannered society should prefer clothes that go well with their rich tradition and heritage. There is nothing wrong in reminding people about our legacy (good manners) and great civilisation as these aspects connect Hindus to their roots.
8. Sanatan Sanstha – An Organisation that strives to preserve the Hindu way of life
The Hindu way of life and Hindu literature are the greatest in the world. However, Hindus have become indifferent towards this rich culture and literature. Hence, it is critical to strengthen Hindu culture. Sanatan Sanstha has been engaged in many activities to preserve and strengthen the Hindu way of life.
To summarise, the activities undertaken by Sanatan Sanstha are praiseworthy, and every devout Hindu should be proud of them. I pray to God – May Sanatan Sanstha get the necessary strength to continue protecting Hindu Dharma and the Hindu way of life.

Sanatan Sanstha makes effective use of all mediums of communication to preserve Hindu-Sanatan Dharma !Education on Dharma, culture, and morality or instilling sanskars (Subconscious impressions) to the children at home has become a rare phenomenon with time. Sanatan Sanstha quickly realised the importance of instilling sanskars and has been earnestly striving hard to awaken pride in Hindu-Sanatan culture, which is considered supreme and prevalent in Indian society. Sanatan Sanstha has been on a mission to avoid a situation detrimental to our culture and way of life because of casual behaviour which does not comply with the limitations suggested by our rich culture. Sanatan Sanstha publishes Texts on a wide range of topics that educate Hindus on many aspects of life, from Ayurveda and Karmayoga to the Science of Spirituality that introduces readers to Hindu Dharma and the Hindu way of life. In addition, Sanatan Sanstha has specifically published Texts on how to abide by Dharma while leading day-to-day lives, how to celebrate or take part in Holy festivals, Religious festivals and Vowed religious observances, etc. The fact that Sanatan Sanstha has been leveraging all modern methods of communication to preserve the sanctity of Hindu-Sanatan Dharma is commendable. |
