Bengaluru (Karnataka) – Amidst the row that the supporters of Congress candidate Naseer Hussain being accused of raising slogans of Pakistan while celebrating the victory in the Rajya Sabha elections, there are reports of Muslims offering Namaz on the streets. Images of Muslims offering namaz on the street near Ateeq Mosque in Siddapura ward under the Chickpet Assembly constituency went viral. A case was registered at the Siddapura Police Station after a complaint was filed by Tejas Gowda, a Hindu activist.
Muslims sat in the middle of the street and offered namaz near Ateeq Mosque, causing trouble to the public. Traffic and movement were blocked. It is unlawful to offer Namaz in public places. This act of Muslims is disrespectful and hurtful to the sentiments of others. Strict action should be taken against those responsible for this illegal act, Tejas Gowda demanded in his complaint.
