Darbhanga (Bihar) – Incidents of stone pelting and clashes have come to light during the immersion procession of the Idol of Shri Saraswati Devi in Bihar’s Darbhanga and Sitamarhi on 15th February. In this incident in Darbhanga, stones were pelted and acid thrown at a procession near a mosque, and the Idol of the Deity was vandalised. Hindus fled leaving the Idol of the Deity due to the attack

Stones were pelted on people going for idol immersion in Kasai Tola in Darbhanga at around 5 p.m. Many people were injured. As soon as the stone pelting started, there was a sudden stampede. People left the Idol of the Deity and fled from there. The Idol of Shri Saraswati Devi was vandalised by fanatical Muslims. The enraged people then vandalised the houses, shops and vehicles of the religious fanatics. On receiving information about the incident of violence, Darbhanga Collector, Special Superintendent of Police and Police force reached the spot and brought the situation under control. Chaos due to changing the route of procession

Prince Kumar Yadav, an official in Bhalpatti Police Station, said that the change in the route of the procession suddenly created tension. Stone pelting began when the procession was passing through the Kasai area. The procession was attacked even before it reached the mosque. Thirteen people have been arrested in this case so far.

Stones were pelted on Hindus who were going to immerse the Idol of Shri Saraswati Devi in ​​Parihar Police Station area of ​​Sitamarhi. The incident took place at Masaha Tola Ward No.13. This stone pelting was retaliated with stone pelting. Many people were injured in stone pelting. After getting information about the incident, the Police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. A large Police force has been deployed there.
