Pakistan justifies its stand by saying ‘no bilateral extradition treaty exists between India-Pakistan’

Islamabad (Pakistan) – Pakistan has rejected India’s demand to extradite Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed. A Pakistani newspaper Dawn has reported that the Spokesperson of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, said that ‘Pakistan has received a request from the Indian Government regarding the extradition of Hafiz Saeed in the money laundering case. In this context, it is pertinent to note that no bilateral extradition treaty exists between Pakistan and India’.

Arindam Bagchi, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs of India, said a few days ago that the Indian Government has requested Pakistan to extradite Hafiz Saeed to India. India also submitted all the relevant documents.
