Bangladeshi Hindus fleeing due to increasing attacks in the wake of upcoming elections in Bangladesh

Forced to sell land, houses and assets at a low price!

Dhaka (Bangladesh) – Attacks on Hindus are on the rise in Bangladesh in the wake of upcoming elections. Hindu religious places are being desecrated. Hindu women are being raped. Hindus are being killed. Due to this, Hindus have started to flee from some places. They have started migrating by selling their houses, land, and property at a low price. Be it ruling Sheikh Hasina or opposition party Khaleda Zia’s party, Hindus are being oppressed by their fanatic Muslim leaders. Hindus in Bangladesh support Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s party. Therefore, they are being increasingly oppressed by the workers of opposition leader Khaleda Zia’s Bangladesh Nationalist Party.

1. According to the report by Kalbela News in Bangladesh, religious fanatical Muslims have taken control of the house of the deceased Hindu Satyendranath Saha in the Shailkupa sub-District of Khulna District and built a 4-storey building there. Jubo League president Shamim Hossain Mulla and his father Sabdar Hossain Mulla have been accused in this regard. Jubo League is the youth wing of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Bangladesh Awami League Party. Hindus are fleeing from this sub-District.

2. Satyendranath’s daughter-in-law said that the leader of the Jubo League has gained illegal control over our house and the Goddess Kali temple. No action has been taken even after lodging a complaint to the local MP of the ruling party, Mohammed Abdul Hye.

3. The religious fanatical Muslims had vandalised the Idols of a temple in the Bijulia village of the same sub-District on 6th November. The vandalism was carried out in the presence of Awami League student union activists. Hindus were also attacked when they were protesting in Comillanagar against atrocities on 13th October 2023. Some people were injured in this.

Hindus demand Bangladesh Awami League to take action

The Puja Committee of the Shailkupa sub-district demanded in April this year that the Bangladesh Awami League should not give a ticket to MP Mohammed Abdul Hye, who has remained silent against atrocities on Hindus. Hindus have urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina that people who have desecrated temples burnt Hindu houses, and are involved in other atrocities, as well as those involved in saving the perpetrators, should not be given tickets in the elections.
