He also stated that crime is being glorified under the pretext of freedom of expression !

Ottawa (Canada) – Amidst the strained relations between India and Canada, Chandra Arya, a Hindu MP in the Parliament of Canada, has made a very serious statement. Arya has released a video through ‘X’ appealing to Hindus in Canada. In this video, he said, ‘A few days ago, Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, the leader of the Khalistani movement in Canada and president of Sikhs For Justice, verbally attacked the Hindu Canadians and asked us to leave Canada and go back to India. I have heard from many Hindu Canadians who are fearful after this targeted attack. I urge Hindu Canadians to stay calm but vigilant. Report any incident of Hinduphobia to the local law enforcement agencies. The Khalistan movement leader is trying to provoke Hindu Canadians to react and divide the Hindu and Sikh communities in Canada’.

Important points mentioned by Arya –
1. Let me make it clear that the vast majority of the Canadian Sikh brothers and sisters do not support the Khalistan movement. Most of the Sikh Canadians may not publicly condemn the Khalistan movement for several reasons, but they are deeply connected to the Hindu Canadian community. Canadian Hindus and Sikhs are connected through family relationships and share socio-cultural ties.
2. I can’t understand how the glorification of terrorism or a hate crime, targeting a religious group is allowed in the name of freedom of speech and expression. There would be outrage in Canada if white supremacists attacked any group of racialised Canadians asking them to get out of our country. But apparently, this Khalistani leader can get away with this hate crime. Hindu Canadians keep a low profile and are considered soft targets.
3. The anti-Hindu elements cannot digest the success of Hindu Canadians. Two well-organised groups claiming to represent their faiths have been attacking Hindu Canadian community leaders, Hindu organisations, and even me. For over 10 months I have been attacked for raising a flag with our Hindu religious sacred symbol ‘Om’ on our Parliament Hill.
4. I again call upon Hindu Canadians to stay calm but vigilant. As Canadians, we can be proud of our Hindu faith, heritage, and contribution to the socio-economic success of our country Canada. (Only the Hindu community, wherever it goes in the world, mixes with that nation and its culture. It considers the soil as its own soil and works selflessly for the development of that country. Please note that this is the result of the broad religious teachings that Hindus have received from their Dharma ! – Editor)
Editorial Viewpoint
Justin Trudeau, who advocates freedom of expression, should be forced to tell what he is going to do to protect the Hindu citizens there ! |
