Sambhal (UP) – The Allahabad High Court recently permitted Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam to construct the Shri Kalki temple at his private property in Sambhal. The Court said that such a construction cannot hurt the religious sentiments of any community. The District Magistrate of Sambhal had earlier issued a stay order on the construction of the temple after a Muslim leader objected to it. The Magistrate stated that the construction of such a temple could disturb religious harmony and law and order in the area while issuing the stay order.

In 2016, Acharya Pramod Krishnam purchased a piece of land to build the Shri Kalki Dham temple in Anchora Kamboh village in Sambhal District. Inamur Rehman Khan, National President of the Muslim Kisan Union, objected to it by claiming that ‘Muslims in that area did not want a temple’. (Note that fanatic Muslims encroach on Hindu lands, vandalise Hindu temples, and get annoyed when Hindus build a temple on their own land! – Editor) He filed a complaint with the District Magistrate in this case. The Magistrate issued a stay order on the construction of the temple.

Acharya Pramod Krishnam had approached the Allahabad High Court against the District Magistrate’s stay order. The Allahabad High Court ruled in the case that the right to build a temple on private land is protected under Articles 25 and 26 of the Constitution of India. There is no evidence that this construction has caused law and order problems in the area.
