Araria (Bihar) – Vimal Yadav (age 36 years), a journalist for the daily ‘Akhbar’, was shot dead by unknown persons who entered his house in the Raniganj area in Araria, Bihar. Vimal Yadav’s younger brother Gabbu Yadav was murdered in 2019. He was Sarpanch of Belsara Panchayat. Vimal Yadav was the main witness in this murder case. The hearing of the case was going on in the fast-track Court and Vimal Yadav’s testimony was to be recorded. His family has alleged that Vimal was killed due to this reason. Police are investigating Vimal Yadav’s murder. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed grief over Yadav’s murder.

The family members of Vimal Yadav have alleged that Rupesh, who is under arrest in Supaul jail in connection with Gabbu Yadav’s murder, plotted to kill Vimal from the jail itself. Rupesh feared that after Vimal’s testimony, he might be convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment. And hence, he killed Vimal.

Family members said that Vimal Yadav always feared for his life. And so, he applied several times for a license to carry a pistol, but he did not get the license. (This is the promptness of the Administration in Bihar!
