Islamabad (Pakistan) – Pakistan’s parliament has been dissolved and elections will be held in the next 90 days. It has come to light that the US was behind Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan stepping down from the post. Last year, Imran Khan was highly appreciative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his foreign policy during the initial stage of the Russia-Ukraine war. He also met Putin in Russia to buy oil. The US did not like these developments. It has come to light that the US, under the pressure of war, conspired to make Imran Khan step down.

According to the news website Al-Jazeera, an Qatar based newspaper has made this claim. Al-Jazeera further claims that the sensitive communication between the US and Pakistani officials has surfaced regarding this matter.

Inflation in Pakistan highly increased during Imran Khan’s rule due to the US pressure. There were massive protests against the Government, and the entire opposition came together, Al-Jazeera says.

US officials reminded Pakistan’s administration that while Pakistan had adopted a neutral stance in the war between Russia and Ukraine, it did not appear to be neutral.

Overall, during that period, the US gave a lot of strength to the motion of no-confidence in the Pakistani Parliament against Imran Khan.

Imran Khan was arrested and banned from contesting elections for allegedly embezzling the State gifts he received. He did not even get any special facilities as a former Prime Minister while in jail. His PTI party was destroyed.
