The US returns 105 ancient Indian artefacts to India

As per the information, the US still has 1,400 ancient Indian artefacts

New York (US) – Soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi toured the US, India succeeded in retrieving the stolen and smuggled 105 Ancient Indian artefacts from the US. These artefacts are from the 2nd to 19th centuries.

The US returned artefacts in a programme organised in the Indian Consulate in the US in the presence of Indian Ambassador Taranjit Singh, Consulate General Randhir Jaiswal and officers of the Attorney’s office of Manhattan District. The US would send them soon to India. 50 out of these are related to the Hindu, Jain and Muslim religions.

Last year, the US returned more than 300 ancient Indian artefacts to India, but 1,400 ancient artefacts are still in the US and will be retrieved soon.
