What exactly did Pepe Escobar claim?
Pepe Escobar recently held a podcast with Australian entrepreneur and political commentator Mario Nawfal on X. He said that Pakistan’s military intelligence agency had received information from highly reliable sources that, on the orders of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Mossad was plotting to assassinate Asim Munir and the members of his delegation in Geneva. Israel was extremely displeased with the Iran-US peace agreement; because it had been kept aside from this process. Also, due to Israel’s military operations in Lebanon, there was a risk of this agreement falling through. As soon as it received information about this plot by Mossad, Pakistan sent a direct and strongly-worded message to Israel through Oman. In it, a warning was given, saying, ‘If you touch our delegation, we will wipe you off the map.’
Pepe also claimed that the actual situation is different from the situation presented publicly.
No official confirmation has yet been given by the official authorities of Israel or Pakistan regarding this assassination plot. In addition, the security agencies of Switzerland, the US and Pakistan also had not issued any alert warning about any such threat during the conference. Therefore, experts are of the opinion that these claims need to be viewed with caution until official information comes forward.
