Starred questions on Corporate Jihad and atrocities against women

  • Women legislators' committee should review laws relating to sexual exploitation

  • Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis issues directions

Mumbai – The incident involving alleged religious conversion and jihad at TCS in Nashik is an eye-opener. Nine cases have been registered in connection with the matter. Such cases follow a specific modus operandi (method of committing the crime). Although several laws are already in place, they are not being properly implemented. Therefore, a committee comprising women members from both the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council should be constituted to study the existing laws relating to sexual exploitation, review the need for amendments, and recommend appropriate corrective measures, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directed.

He was replying during the Starred Question Hour in the Legislative Council, where the alleged TCS Corporate Jihad case in Nashik, harassment of women in various establishments and other related incidents were discussed. Starred questions were raised by Shiv Sena MLA Dr Manisha Kayande, BJP MLA Chitra Wagh, MLA Uma Khapre and MLA Madhavi Naik.

The Chief Minister further said:

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis
