Islamabad (Pakistan) – Salwan Momika, a citizen of Iraqi origin, recently burned the Quran in the capital, Stockholm, after being permitted by a Court in Sweden. The Islamic countries have condemned this incident. Now Pakistani Government is also protesting this incident. The Government of Pakistan has called a one-day special session of the Parliament in this regard and a nationwide protest will be held on 7th July. On the other hand, the Pakistani terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Jhangvi has announced to take revenge on the Christians in Pakistan for this incident and has also threatened to attack churches. Following this, Christians in Pakistan demanded protection from the Government. The Government has not yet reacted to the threat. This terrorist organisation operates against Shia Muslims in Pakistan.
1. The statement issued by terrorist Naseer Raisani of this terrorist organisation says, no church or a Christian is safe in Pakistan. Suicide bombings will be carried out targeting Christians to avenge the burning of the Quran in Sweden. Christians have challenged Muslims by burning the Quran in Sweden. If a Christian defies the Quran in other countries, our organisation, which follows the path of Jihad, will make Pakistan a hell for Christians.
2. Naeem Yusuf Gill, an official of the Pakistan Catholic Bishops’ Conference, said, ‘I condemn the desecration of the Quran in Sweden. We as a religious minority want to live in peace and brotherhood. We have always supported the majority. We can never even think of breaking the law. I urge you to be vigilant about the threat from the terrorist organisation’.
3. Khalid Rashid Asi, the director general of another Christian organisation in Faisalabad, Pakistan, met the Police officials. He sought protection from the Police. 4,000 Christians live in Faisalabad. In 2019, there were anti-Christian riots in Pakistan’s Punjab province after the desecration of the Quran. 10 Christians were killed in it. This riot was carried out by Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.

Editorial Viewpoint
On one side there are alert Muslims all over the world uniting against the desecration of their Holy scripture, Quran, while on the other, there are spineless Hindus who do not even utter a word of protest when their own scriptures are denigrated ! |
