Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind’s demand
Jamiat President Maulana Mahmood Madani
New Delhi – Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, a Muslim organisation, has called for a ban on the upcoming Hindi film ‘Ajmer 92’. The film is yet to release. In this film, the incidents of sexual exploitation of college-going Hindu girls in Ajmer in the year 1992 have been presented. More than 250 Hindu female students were sexually exploited in this scandal. Among the exploiters, were the caretakers of the Ajmer Dargah. Many of them have not been punished yet and still, Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has called for a ban on the film.
Jamiat president Maulana (Muslim scholar) Mahmood Madani said, “The film made to defame Ajmer Sharif Dargah should be banned immediately. Instead of linking criminal incidents with religion, there is a need for united action against crime. Such films can divide society. Freedom of expression is a blessing and strength of any democracy. However, thoughts and ideas that break the country cannot be encouraged under its guise. Ajmer Dargah is a living example of Hindu-Muslim unity. People who tried to insult this dargah, they have been insulted.”

Editorial Viewpoint
In the past, Hindus were misled by releasing films showing false stories of Hindu-Muslim brotherhood. Now when films that show the true history and reality to Hindus are released, Muslim organisations and their leaders will obviously get angry. No wonder there is a strong demand for a ban on the films like ‘The Kashmir Files’, ‘The Kerala Story’ and now ‘Ajmer 92’. |
