S Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister of India addressing at the Summit
Panaji (Goa) – India continues to be under the threat of terrorism across the border. Funding terrorists has to be stopped. Combating terrorism is one of the basic objectives of forming this organisation. Taking eyes off terrorism will be detrimental to the security of this country. We firmly believe that there can be no justification for terrorism, and it must be stopped in all its forms and manifestations, including cross-border terrorism. Combating the menace of terrorism is the true objective of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s conference, stated S Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister of India in his address, without making any reference to Pakistan. The foreign ministers of all member countries including China, Russia, and Pakistan are participating in this meeting.

1. Jaishankar had bilateral discussions with the foreign ministers of China, Russia, and Uzbekistan on the 4th of May 2023. In the meeting with Sergey Lavrov, his Russian counterpart, both the leaders reviewed the bilateral global and multilateral cooperation between the two countries.
2. Jaishankar also had a meeting with the Chinese External Affairs Minister Qin Gang, wherein the discussions focused on resolving outstanding issues and ensuring peace in the border region.
3. Jaishankar also met Saidov, his counterpart from Uzbekistan, and expressed confidence that the bilateral partnership will continue to grow in different domains.
