Tricolour laid on Atiq Ahmed’s grave by Congress leader Rajkumar Singh

Prayagraj (UP) – Infamous gangsters Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed were shot dead while in Police custody. Their bodies were buried at Prayagraj. Local Congress leader Rajkumar Singh a.k.a. Rajju, laid the Tricolour on their graves. Rajkumar also chanted ‘Atiq Ahmed amar rahe’ (May Atiq Ahmed stay immortal) slogan. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

1. The Congress party has clarified that it has no connection with the incident. Rajju was the Congress candidate from ward no. 43 of the Municipal Corporation. After this incident, the Congress party suspended him for 6 years. After the video went viral, Prayagraj Police took Rajkumar into custody. He is being investigated.

2. Rajju recited verses from the Quran on Atiq’s grave. He also demanded ‘Bharat Ratna’ and ‘martyr’ status for Atiq. After laying the Tricolour on Atiq and Ashraf’s grave, he also laid Tricolour on the grave of Asad (Atiq’s son).

3. While talking to the press after the incident, Rajju accused CM Yogi Adityanath of killing Atiq Ahmed and demanded his resignation.
