We killed Atiq and Ashraf for their illegal activities : Accused shooters

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) – The infamous gangster, involved in crimes like murder, extortion, and browbeating, Don Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were shot dead on the night of the 15th of April by 3 individuals. The 3 accused are Lavlesh Tiwari, Sunny Singh, and Arun Maurya. All of them are gangsters as well, with criminal cases filed against them. They have also been jailed before. The three surrendered before the Police after they shot and killed Atiq and Ashraf shouting slogans of “Jai Shriram’. Now the Police are investigating the matter. The Police have got primary information that this crime has a mastermind. The accused in their response to the Police after the killing said, ‘Atiq Ahmed had links with Pakistan. He had connections with both the Intelligence Agency of Pakistan ISI, and the terrorist organisation based in Pakistan the ‘Lashkar-e-Taiba’. Atiq and his gang have killed many innocent individuals. Atiq indulged in land grabbing and has murdered as well. He has troubled and threatened those who gave evidence against him. His brother Ashraf was a party to all these activities. That is why we have killed them.’

Killed them for revenge – Claim the accused

The relative of one of the men who shot Atiq and Ashraf was murdered by Atiq. Police say that the accused claimed to have killed them in revenge. But which of the three said this is not yet known. Police are investigating this too.

How did the three get together ?

The three accused are from different Districts of Uttar Pradesh. Lavlesh Tiwari is from Banda, Sunny is from Hamirpur, and Arun Maurya is from Kasganj. How did they get acquainted with each other ? The Police are investigating this as well. All three are in the age group of 20 to 25. Three days before the killing they had rented a room in a hotel in Prayagraj. The motorcycle used for the killing was listed in the name of Sardar Abdul Mannan Khan informed the Police. They are now trying to find out who gave it to them and from where it was brought. When Sunny Singh was in jail he came in contact with the infamous gangster Sundar Bhati. Sunny is accused of committing crimes for the Sunder Bhati gang.

The accused used pistols that are banned in India !

Zigana Pistols were used to kill Atiq and Ashraf. This pistol is made in Turkiye and costs Rs 6 lakh.  It is banned in India. It was smuggled into India. 17 bullets can be loaded at one time. This pistol was used to murder singer Sidhu Moosewala. The armies of Malaysia, Azerbaijan, and the Philippines use this pistol. This is an automatic pistol from which many bullets can be shot at the same time.

We have disowned him ! – claims Lavlesh Tiwari’s father

Lavlesh Tiwari’s father Yagya Tiwari said, we do not know anything and we do not have any relation with Lavlesh. He has no contact with the family. We have stopped speaking with him for many years. He used to take drugs. So, we broke relations with him. He sometimes came home. He had come here 5-6 days ago. He was not working at all. We learned of his involvement in the Atiq murder case from the news on TV.

17 Police suspended

As the killing happened when Atiq and Ashraf were in the protection of the Police the 17 Police personnel on duty were suspended. Security has been increased post the killing at Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s official residence. Section 144 has been enforced in Prayagraj for security reasons.
