Restrictions on noise level above 75 decibels during the Shriram Navami and Chhath Puja festivals

  • Fatwa by Nitish Kumar’s Bihar government!
  • Why is there no restriction for the Azaan? – VHP

Darbhanga (Bihar) – The District Administration has given an order stating that Shriram Navami and Chhath Puja festivals having loudspeakers with more than 75 decibels will be banned. Vinod Bansal, the National Spokesperson of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, tweeted questioning, ‘Why such directions are not given for Azaan and Tazia (processions taken out during Moharram)?

The District Administration has issued orders that permission has been denied for any new processions to be taken out on the occasion of Ramnavami. Immediate action will be taken against those violating these instructions.

Editorial viewpoint

Last year, fanatical Muslims attacked the Shriram Navami processions in 8 States. This is outrageous that the coalition Government of the Janata Dal (United) and the RJD in Bihar is harassing the Hindus instead of controlling the religious fanatics.
