Patna – Bihar Government grants permission to Muslim employees to change office timing for the month of Ramzan, a decision taken for ‘their convenience’. In a circular issued by the General Administration Department of the State Government, it has been stated that Muslim officials and staffers will be allowed to arrive one hour before the usual working hours and leave one hour before accordingly during the month of Ramzan if they so choose. Moreover, the circular stated that this Government order would be effective every year during the month of Ramzan. Giving special facilities on the basis of religion to Government employees, does this come within the norms of a Secular Administration ? Why are the seculars silent now ? Or do they agree with this Government decision ? |
