Infuriating incident in Azamgarh in the presence of the Police

Azamgarh (UP) – An Indian Mujahideen (IM) operative, convict Shehzad Ahmad alias Pappu (33) in the 2008 Batla House encounter case, serving a life sentence in Tihar Jail, died in All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) while undergoing treatment. His corpse had been brought to his native place Khalishpur in Azamgarh.

At that time thousands of Muslims had assembled for his burial rites. A large Police force had been deputed there to avoid any untoward incident. Police Inspector Mohanchandra Sharma had been killed and 2 Policemen had been injured in the encounter in Batla House. 2 terrorists also were killed then.
