New Delhi – The 74th Republic Day celebrations took place on the revamped Central Vista avenue, the first at the ceremonial boulevard after Rajpath was renamed to Kartavya Path last year. President Draupadi Murmu hoisted the Indian flag. Later all three wings of the Army, Paramilitary forces, Police Squad, etc. displayed Republic Day Parade. Republic Day Parade was a unique mix of India’s military and cultural diversity depicted through floats from various States. Along with PM Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, Ambassadors of various nations and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi as the chief guest, were present.
Float based on 3-1/2 Shaktipeeths and Narishakti was displayed by Maharashtra
Maharashtra’s float was the centre of attraction for all. Maharashtra has displayed floats 40 times. This time it displayed the float based on the concept of famous 3-1/2 Shaktipeethas and Narishakti.

This year the replicas of 3 Shaktipeeths, Shri Mahalakshmi of Kolhapur, Shri Tuljabhavani of Tuljapur, Shri Renukamata of Mahur and Saptashrungi of Vani (½ peeth) were displayed through floats.
