Abdul Rehman Makki declared as a Global Terrorist !

China had tried to protect him earlier !

New York – Pakistan-based Abdul Rehman Makki, the deputy chief of the terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba, has been blacklisted as a global terrorist by the United Nations. He is the brother-in-law of Hafiz Saeed, the founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba. He is subject to the assets freeze, travels ban, and arms embargo.

India and the USA had already designated him as a terrorist. Makki was involved in collecting money, converting youths to terrorists and planning attacks on India. In June last year, China had put a hold, at the last moment, on a joint proposal by India and the US to list Makki under the 1267 Al-Qaida Sanctions Committee of the UN Security Council but now it withdrew its hold on a joint proposal by India and the US.
